As some of you already know, I aim to create 1/1 scale Jurassic Park animatronic dinosaurs for a temporary outdoor environment for the purpose of attaining personal knowledge in the world of animatronics. I would like my 'practice' attempts at doing dinosaurs to be based on the Jurassic Park designs as these are my fav dinosaurs, and wondered if Universal would have a problem with this? This ' practice park' will be for my own purpose and not for profit, but I would still like to create video clips of the models in action and post them on my website and Youtube. I would like to do this animatronic outdoor diorama for many reasons, but mainly to learn how to do outdoor animatronic dinosaurs that can withstand harsh weather conditions (heatwaves to downpours and freezing weather) and also be completely believeable in regards to movement and behaviour. Once I've attained all the information I need from these models, I will then be ready to move onto my own dinosaur designs for a public park. For now, I'd like to do my favourite JP models for the private park as I may never be able to put them on show in a public park legally (unless I pay huge royalties ). If anyone has any idea about Universal's copyrights or how it all works, please let me know. I have included a pic to give you an example of the environment for my animatronics. ;D ;D ;D

Maybe you could design wheels on the smaller ones like velociraptor, gallimimus, dilophosaurus, etc.
I DIDN'T KNOW YOU HAD A YOUTUBE ACCOUNT! Supersaurus, what's it called!

My Youtube username is 'interestingvideo', although the stuff I have on there so far is not very interesting. They're mainly just practice clips so I can work out the system. ;D

they wont let you use jp for anything dealing with a park or pretty much anything money making. even if your pocketbook was endless they would say no. it would be like trying to build a park with a disney theme.

There's a Jurassic Park in Baltow, I think in Germany, and I think it is called Jurassic Park. This isn't even Universal Studios either.

yea but its poland and they dont care about copyright laws. so yea if u built there or some 3rd world country then yea u wont need to worry about it. but if it was built anywhere else it would be shut down. plus if u wanna build a park u got to be smart enough to come up with your own ideas and not just scam off some other idea

The 'test' park I have in mind for the JP dinosaurs is not for profit, it's just an opportunity to use the JP designs I like so much and to practice with animatronics. It won't be called Jurassic Park either, but some of the animals in it will resemble the JP designs/look. The 'test' park (to be entitled Mesozoic World: Dinosaur Park) will consist of a website and video clips of the animatronics that were shot on a private piece of land made up (temporary) to resemble dinosaur paddocks. The website's main purpose is to gain the attention and interest of professionals and investors in this field who may be able to advise or help out in some way.

A lot of people made dinos like the JP ones, though they are not licenced, just like PAPO. Oh, I the future (more than 10 years) may I use the name for my own if I make my own park? Oh, and did you get the land yet?

DINOSAURS I now have the Compsognathus 1:1 scale original model from the Lost World to possibly use in my little mock-up test park that I will video and post on Youtube. Very soon I will have Pachycephalosaurus, Velociraptor, Stegosaur head and baby T-rex and these will be full scale too. Pictures coming soon. FENCING I would also like to use a similar type of paddock fencing as used in the films. I won't make it exactly the same (for fear of Universal suing), but it'd still have the basic structure of a concrete base and metal uprights with cables stretching across. I have seen many variations of this throughout the trilogy and even in park simulator games including Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis, so there seems to be plenty of room for new designs, but keeping the 'feel' of Jurassic Park.
