Loved the film and have just got to get it on dvd now! Hope they hurry up and bring out the 3D TV systems, I don't want to see this film any other way now I've seen it in 3D! ;D What did you think of it? I'm inspired enough to do an Avatar forum with a section on doing your own Avatar makeups and even modeling planet Pandora's forest with miniature landscapes and dry ice effects to get the mist. Maybe I could do the levitating mountains with a magnet inside a foam rock with foilage over the top. Let me know if you're up for this and I'll get right on it! ;D

I don't really think so. One forum is enough isn't it? And Jurassic Park is a big classic. This is bigger than most other movie forums.

I said MOST not THE biggest.
The "Avatar" movie has the 2nd highest gross worldwide EVER! Jurassic Park is still #13

James Cameron really seems to have done his homework on the science of his world of Pandora! There's a real scientific (not science fiction) explanation for the levitating mountains and glowing plants in this film. Pandora apparently is actually a moon, not a planet and the floating mountains is explained in real science by super conductors and magnetism. I did a load of reading about it on the net, and it's a pretty fascinating subject. I now know how to literally make my own 'small-scale' Pandora floating mountains, but would involve messing with liquid nitrogen and exotic metals which may prove a pain to get hold of.

I'm realy suprised that they acatualy used real science in this movie and that dio sounds great!

Those 'horse-like animals' actually used a sound right from Jurassic Park that was originally created for the Raptors! A Raptor call/snort. Look out for it again when you see the Pandora horses.

I have new name for the Thanator now that I saw a clip: Frilled Entelodont. What raptor sound was used for the direhorses? I never saw the movie and don't plan to soon.
