I'm sure a lot of fans must have pondered on this one! Were the free flying Pterosaurs seen at the end of The Lost World actually able to leave the island, or somehow genetically engineered in a way that they didn't need or want to? Maybe they'd die if they left the area?
The Pterosaurs/Pteranodons in JP3 were caged, but when Alan Grant and others left the cage unlocked, the animals escaped and started heading across sea as seen at the end. Were they heading for mainland?

the ones in the 2nd movie probably knew that if it tried to get away from the island, it would be hard for it to manage. and the JP4 film should start with a scene related to the pteranodons from the 3rd film in the mainland.

Yeah, Grant said they were probably looking for new nesting grounds, so that could just be another island though. I would actually like to see at least one JP sequel as a prequel to the first movie. I want to see more science and setting up of the park.

If they do a prequel then I want to see more dinosaurs, and I want to see both species of raptors and a deinonychus.
