That's huge! Can't wait to see your finished diorama! I think you should leave the maquette alone regarding painting. Jus leave it as it is seeing as that's how it was painted at the studio. It might lose some value if it was retouched by another individual.

I'm also looking forward to this Stegosaurus Diorama, It would be amazing to have one of these props, These days it's so hard to find something so detailed.

I will do a 3d stegosaure soon but I will need some pictures references, a full frontal, profil, back and top pictures. That's just 4 pictures and will help me to work my next model. Can you do this for me? Thanks.

Hi
I've already started creating the mold wall for the Steg, and am also awaiting a new order of silicone rubber. It'll use more rubber than I thought. The mold walls would unfortunately obscure any decent view of the model, but I will complete it asap. The plates will take quite a while as there're so many.

are the plates just plain cardboard? The plates are made from resin as the rest of the model. The larger ones measure about 5 inches tall and are at least 1cm thick where they meet the Stego's back. ;D

was there any texture on it? or was it just flat? The plates have a lot of texture and a nice curved shape.

That's spectacular. It has every single detail and is way better than Kenner's The Lost word Stegosaurus. Oddly enough, Kenner actually did use this maquette in one of their early Toy Fair catalogs(obviously because they had no final toy):
