Check out my ongoing diorama for the Lost World Stegosaur maquette studio model (shown in the 'Private Collection' section back at my Jurassic Park website). ;D The diorama will be pretty big as the Stego measures over 2 1/2 foot long! I may use the special effects water material (available in most miniature landscaping stores, railways etc...) to make a stream under the dinos feet.

Even if the diorama is not ready can you post some pictures of your model. Thanks

Is this an actual model from the film? Sounds fantastic.

Yes, it is an original studio maquette finished and painted and on a board.

How exactly did you get this Stegosaurus Kit?

It's an original studio-used reference model painted and finished. I acquired it from a prop store but unfortunately this is all they had on the JP films.

That's spectacular. It has every single detail and is way better than Kenner's The Lost word Stegosaurus.
What is it made of? Is it hollow from the inside?

Awesome, is it possible to get a mold from this. I mean is it possible to make accurate copy. ;D

It's made of resin, not sure if it's hollow though.

If it's made of resine it must be possible to make a copy if you make a mold? But I'm not sure that will not ravage the painting job. You must know this better than me, what do you think about that?

I have successfully molded models using silicone that didn't even have protection for the paint job such as a varnish, but the paintwork was still perfectly ok afterwards. Silicone (at least what I use) isn't a particularly aggressive substance. The reason that I'd like a spare cast for myself (besides doing a diorama piece afterwards) is that I plan to sculpt or have CNC scanned/milled a larger Stego to make into an animatronic, and this model is a wonderful reference piece.

Have you some other pictures of this model? Just to see the level of details. Why not to put a pen or something near the model to see the size of the piece.
