Check out my ongoing diorama for the Lost World Stegosaur maquette studio model (shown in the 'Private Collection' section back at my Jurassic Park website). ;D
The diorama will be pretty big as the Stego measures over 2 1/2 foot long! I may use the special effects water material (available in most miniature landscaping stores, railways etc...) to make a stream under the dinos feet.

I have successfully molded models using silicone that didn't even have protection for the paint job such as a varnish, but the paintwork was still perfectly ok afterwards. Silicone (at least what I use) isn't a particularly aggressive substance.
The reason that I'd like a spare cast for myself (besides doing a diorama piece afterwards) is that I plan to sculpt or have CNC scanned/milled a larger Stego to make into an animatronic, and this model is a wonderful reference piece.
